Q. Are used cardboard boxes as good as new ones?

A. Yes! The quality or strength of a box does not depend on whether is has been used. Most boxes are strong enough to be reused multiple times before they're ready to be recycled. Choosing to reuse is also the easiest way to get Planet Friendly Packaging.

Q. Why are used boxes better for the planet?

A. Choosing to reuse delays the recycling process, which is actually quite environmentally damaging. Recycling produces a lot of CO2 and uses vast amounts of energy and water. Also, cardboard cannot be infinitely recycled, so new pulp needs to be added to the mix each time, meaning more trees need to be cut down.
