Celebrating Small Business Saturday as a top 100 small business

We’ve got some incredible news to share. Reuseabox has been named one of the nation’s top 100 small businesses by the Small Business Saturday UK campaign!

This recognition places us among some of the most impressive independent businesses across the UK as part of the SmallBiz100.

Small Business Saturday, the UK’s biggest celebration of small businesses, takes place this year on 7th December. As part of the

campaign’s 100-day countdown, Reuseabox has been featured on the 15th of November. This is a proud moment for our team.

Building a better future for people and the planet

Reuseabox was founded by Jack Good in 2015 shortly after he left school. In just 9

years with key investment in local people and becoming customer-centric in its approach, we have rapidly grown into an award-winning B Corp certified circular economy packaging company that is disrupting the sector.

“Being selected as part of the SmallBiz100 is a testament to the incredible support from our community, customers, and team here at Reuseabox,” said Jack Good, our founder.

“It’s an honour to be recognised for our efforts in promoting sustainability and circular economy principles within the packaging industry, and we’re excited to continue helping businesses across the UK reduce their packaging waste and embrace reuse.”

Why Small Businesses Matter

Running in the UK for over a decade, Small Business Saturday is the UK’s most successful small business campaign. It takes place each year on the first weekend in December, celebrating small businesses and encouraging consumers to ‘shop local’ and to support businesses in their communities.

“It’s great to celebrate Reuseabox as part of this year’s campaign,” said Michelle Ovens CBE, Director of Small Business Saturday UK.

“This year’s SmallBiz100 list shows the huge contribution small businesses make to their communities and the wider UK economy. Despite the economy turning a corner, the nation’s small businesses continue to feel the fallout of a challenging few years and still need significant support to get back on their feet. Small Business Saturday is all about getting the nation to come out in force and show its love for our local businesses.

With a mission to support and celebrate the UK’s 5.5 million small businesses, Small Business Saturday is a grassroots, non-commercial campaign. It was originally founded by American Express in the U.S. in 2010, and the brand remains the principal supporter of the campaign in the UK.

On Small Business Saturday, customers across the UK go out and support all types of small businesses, from independent shops and restaurants to small service and b2b businesses like accountants and plumbers. Because of this, many small businesses take an active role in promoting the day by hosting events and offering promotions.

Since the UK campaign started in 2013, it has reached millions of people. It has also seen billions spent with small businesses on the day itself, with impact that lasts all year round.

Last year, the campaign received support from the Prime Minister, the Mayor of London, as well as the Chancellor of the Exchequer. Over 90% of local councils also supported the campaign, which trended across social media on the day.

How to get involved

On 7th December, we invite you to join the movement by supporting local businesses in your area. Whether it’s shopping at an independent store or dining at a family-run restaurant. Or by choosing to ship your goods in used cardboard boxes with Reuseabox.
