At Reuseabox, our mission is to shape a better future for both people and the planet by promoting the reuse of cardboard boxes.

As a packaging provider, however, we’re acutely aware that all packaging has an environmental impact.

This Earth Day, celebrated on 22 April 2025, with the theme “Our Power, Our Planet,” we are reflecting on our commitment to environmental stewardship and our partnership with 1% for the Planet.

Why 1% for the Planet?

1% for the Planet is a global network of businesses, individuals, and environmental organisations working together to address the planet’s most pressing environmental issues. Members commit to donating at least 1% of their annual sales to environmental causes, ensuring that their contributions have a tangible impact. Shockingly, only 3% of all philanthropic giving goes to environmental causes. That’s why 1% for the Planet aims to change this by facilitating direct support to vetted environmental partners.

Our Commitment

In 2023, we proudly joined 1% for the Planet, pledging to donate 1% of our sales to environmental initiatives. This commitment aligns with our core values and amplifies our efforts to combat environmental challenges. Through this partnership, we’ve supported reforestation projects and other vital environmental causes, contributing to a healthier planet.

Impact Achieved

 Since joining 1% for the Planet, we’ve achieved significant milestones:

• Tree Planting: In partnership with organisations like Eden Reforestation Projects, we’ve planted nearly 300,000 trees so far.
• B Corp Certification: In 2023, we earned our B Corp certification. This shows our commitment to balancing profit with purpose as well as meeting strict social and environmental standards.
• The Better Business Act: We support the Better Business Act, advocating for every UK business to take ownership of its social and environmental impact.
• Over 10 Million Boxes Reused: At the start of 2025, we hit this amazing milestone. This has saved 14,868 tonnes of carbon, 249 million kWh of energy, 3 billion litres of water, and 52,130 trees.

Looking Ahead

Our journey doesn’t stop here. We’re committed to planting one million trees by 2030, furthering our positive impact on the environment. Additionally, we’re continuously exploring innovative ways to promote the reuse of packaging materials, reduce waste, and support a circular economy.
