The Dragon Boat Race is a vibrant and exhilarating annual event in Newark. It brings two local charities together for a day of excitement. 39 teams from various businesses and community groups will take to the River Trent in front of the historic Newark Castle on the 15th of September to compete to be the champion. The race is a test of speed, coordination and teamwork. It is also a fantastic way for participants to bond and have fun.
This exciting event promises a day filled with fun, teamwork, and a dash of friendly competition, all in the name of charity. We are paddling with purpose to support two incredible local organisations, Beaumond House Hospice Care (who are our charity partner for 2024) and the Children’s Bereavement Centre.
Beaumond House is a community hospice providing compassionate end-of-life care and support to patients and their families. Their holistic approach ensures that every individual receives the physical, emotional, and spiritual care they need.
Children’s Bereavement Centre offers vital support to children and young people who have experienced the loss of a loved one. Their services include counselling, group activities, and resources designed to help young people navigate their grief and find hope and healing.
