Save up to 50% When You Choose to Reuse
Did you know that not only is reuse better for the environment, but it can also save you money? That’s because there are no manufacturing costs when you choose to reuse cardboard boxes. Stretch your packaging budget further with Reuseabox.
But what about the quality of used cardboard boxes?
Whether new or used, each box undergoes rigorous quality checks to ensure cleanliness, dryness, and reusability. Some of our boxes even go on to be used up to 6-7 times before they end up being recycled.
Why is reuse better than recycling?
By choosing Reuseabox, you actively contribute to reducing your carbon footprint and saving trees. That’s because reusing packaging delays the recycling process and reduces the need for manufacturing new cardboard boxes.
Even if you buy boxes made from recycled materials, you still need to use new pulp from trees to turn a box into another box. And that just seems pointless! That’s why we’re on a mission to get more and more people to reuse cardboard boxes and cut down on packaging waste.
What is corrugated cardboard?
Corrugated cardboard is a sturdy material made up of layers of paperboard, where a fluted or wavy layer of corrugated paper is sandwiched between boards. This design provides strength and durability, making it ideal for packaging. The difference between single wall cardboard boxes and double wall packing boxes lies in the number of layers of corrugated paper. A single wall carton has one layer of corrugated paper between two boards, making it suitable for lightweight items. In contrast, double wall boxes have two layers of corrugated paper, offering extra strength for heavy items.
How do I know what size box is right for me?
Choosing the right box size isn’t just about finding a box that fits; it’s about ensuring your products are securely packaged with minimal movement during transit. To determine the correct size, you need to measure your product(s) accurately using the dimensions of length x width x height. Once you have these measurements, you can find a box that closely matches them. The goal is to minimise empty space inside the box to prevent items from shifting, which reduces the risk of damage. When it comes to used boxes, instead of focusing on finding the “right” size, prioritise a box that can snugly accommodate your items while providing enough room for protective padding if necessary.
Single vs. Double Wall Cardboard Boxes: Which Is Right for You?
When selecting cardboard boxes, consider your shipping method and the type of goods you’re packaging. For parcels sent via carriers, we recommend opting for heavy-duty double walled cardboard boxes to ensure excellent protection against knocks and bumps. Single wall boxes are ideal for lighter products that don’t require extra protection.

Reuseabox FAQs
What sizes do cardboard boxes come in?
We stock a wide range of sizes to fit your requirements. Plus a wide range of less common dimensions depending on what’s come through the warehouse. If nothing on the shelf fits the job, we can sometimes source custom sizes to order, so it’s always worth asking.
Are used cardboard boxes as strong as new ones?
Yes. Every box we resell is inspected, and only sent back out if it can do the job again. We don’t sell tatty seconds as we train our suppliers to only send us boxes that can be reused. However, in the event that we do receive un-usable boxes, anything that won’t hold up to a second life goes straight for recycling instead. In practice, that means our boxes perform identically to new ones for the vast majority of packing, picking and shipping jobs.
How much do cardboard boxes cost?
For used boxes, prices start from around 10p per box but the exact rate depending on size and quantity. We offer bulk discounts on pallet and multi-pallet orders. Most customers buying in volume save significantly compared with new box pricing. Get in touch for a tailored quote if you’re ordering at scale.
How quickly can you deliver?
Orders placed before 2pm on a working day and on a premium delivery go out the same day on a next-day courier service to mainland UK addresses. Orders on our eco delivery service are typically dispatched and delivered within 5 working days. Larger pallet orders are normally shipped via our dedicated freight network or on one our trucks. These orders typically arrive within 3-5 working days depending on your postcode.
How is reusing a box better for the environment than recycling it?
Recycling cardboard still has a footprint. Collection, pulping, de-inking and re-manufacturing all consume energy and water. On top of this, a portion of the fibre is lost each time the material goes round. Reusing the same box two, three or more times skips that whole industrial step. It keeps the material doing useful work for longer.
